That joke was a favorite of my late grandfather, though anyone who has had his luggage lost by an airline would find it less amusing. Airlines and airports give consumers plenty of reasons to complain--whether it's a delayed takeoff, no blankets while the air-conditioning is on at full blast or a television screen that doesn't work. But the worst of all is being involuntarily bumped. It's an annoyance if your bag misses the first night of your vacation; it's a disaster if you do.
